I am using iStat pro widget and for the active processes, it lists "windows server" and "sh" and I am wondering what those two are? Can anybody help?

Windows Server is usually owned by the current user. It is responsible for managing the computer's display and mediating between the various Applications and other processes that want to display information on it. It also does the grunt work of launching new user applications, so most user processes are actually its children in the process hierarchy.

sh is the shell process which is a part of Unix.

Wow, that analogy with the "children" really made total sense to me.

Thanks!

Well, "Child Process" is part of standard Unix/Linux terminology ;)
