Slow Xp boot up and crackling audio

I recently installed boot camp and a new copy of xp pro in my macbook pro 2.16 C2D. It takes approx 2.5 minutes after choosing the xp hard drive at the boot camp HD selection screen. Is this normal? Also when I'm starting xp the signature windows chime pops and crackles, almost like the speakers are blown. Any feedback would be appreciated.....

Overall xp seems to run slow in my macbook pro. Boot up, opening applications. Is this common for other users? Any body???

that sounds like windows but not how it should run on a mac. maybe you should try a reinstall

It takes about 2 1/2 min to boot xp.
