Hi,
I'm planning on getting either a macbook in january.
I need it to edit some drawings of mine so I will probably use a program such as illustrator. However, I've been told I would need a macbook pro to run it as the macbook doesn't have a dedicated graphics card and the macbook pro does.
On the system requirements for illustrator it doesn't say it needs a graphic card.

Will it run on a macbook?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

It can run on there but it will be a bit laggy when working with 3D. If you have the windows version you can use bootcamp to boot into xp and use it.

Is it worth paying the extra money getting the macbook pro if I'm not using 3d?

If you are doing more than just Illustrater then i would consider the MBP but if your only doing it and basic things like word proccessing then get the MB.
