ragin on Zune for having no accessories

At first accessories were kind of hard to come by, but lately I have been pretty impressed with how many places I have found accessories. Just about every place you can get an Xbox also has Zune accessories. For the most part they just offer the Microsoft ones, but they are pretty nice so thats not really a problem. The massive variety isn't there, but if you need the basic stuff(cases, sync cables, chargers, etc), they are easy to find.

Sorry about dragging this thread out, but it just seems like there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding the Zune.

I have Windows XP on my MBP, but the partition is pretty small so I keep my music on my desktop PC, plus I don't want to have to boot into XP on my MBP to listen to my Zune library on my Xbox 360.

How can somone who favors iPod complain about the included themes when iPods have none, no matter how bad they are? (unless there have been upgrades I'm unaware of)

It's pretty easy. If they look like crap then it's probably better not to have them. the iPod doesn't look like crap since it only has the UI with no "themes". Simply using the Zune was enough to demonstrate that.

I feel sorry for this guy, because if Apple wants to improve screen size and keep portability, their going to have to follow suit, unless they make the entire UI widescreen, which would unfortuantely decrease your menu viewing realestate. And I think a touch screen plus video-watching is a very bad idea unless you're wearing gloves.

There has been much conjecture about the Gen 6 iPod. There have been claims of a full screen with touch controls. They could also simply make the controls "smart" so that when you tilt it the button functionality moves with it. We'll have to wait and see.

On a side note, please enable the spell checker in whatever browser your using. There is really no excuse for so many misspelled words these days.

I don't agree with you here. Think about your computer's desktop, you can use a crappy image and make it hard to read, useless and a shame for Macs everywhere. But, if you choose the right one you can even show them in a large thread like this one. Also, just because you have the option, it doesn't mean you have to use it.
I like also the font they are using, it looks better than the one that the iPod has. The black background for album art, which is bigger in proportions. That top menu/navigation bar is also a good detail.
The iPod GUI looks like an unformated Word document, it is fast and functional, but i wish it had a little more of that "something" Aqua has.

That was sort of my point in the original post. If there were a good looking theme, it might not matter as much, but the 3 I saw were crappy. Sadly, there was no "default" theme or a way to turn the theme off, you simply had 3 to choose from. If there were a simple basic theme to fall back on, that would be ok. I did not see one.

I have been using the trial Zune pass for awhile now. I didn't really think I would like the unlimited download thing very much, but turns out it is pretty nice.

I still have a couple days left on my trial, when it is done I am considering subscribing. That would mean dropping my XM subscription, since I couldn't justify having both.

edit: In case you didn't hear the story yet, someone returned a Zune filled with porn, then it got re-sold to a kid... I think someone has too much time on their hands.

True,it doesn't look like crap. It doesn't look like anything. Like mraya said, it's very plain, and in my opinion, quite boring. Simple is nice, but the utilitarian thing gets old really fast. Frankly, for a company like Apple that promotes innovation and creativity, I'm surprised keep customization so limited.

Like Windows, I'm sure customization for Zune themes isn't too far off.

Once again, you know little about Apple or the man who runs it.
