So I just installed Open Office on my mac & when I run it, it tells me OpenOffice can't be started because X11 is not installed that I need to install X11. Whenever I try to install X11, it tells me that I can't because newer software exists on my computer.

Anyone have any idea what the causel/solution could be?

Is there an alternative program that reads .docs that I can use for word processing??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

(and one of those answers is to use neooffice instead of openoffice - basically the same thing)
