Getting video into my Mac

I have tons of old video tapes that I digitized at lower qualities with my PC, and as a result, they are .wmv files. I'd like to capture the tapes on my Mini at higher quality now, and obviously in a different file format. I have an Adaptec USB break out box that allows me to digitize analog video/audio signals that I used with my PC. Is it possible to use what I already have to digitize the video, or do I need something Mac specific, and if so, what is recommended?

You might want to simply try the product you have first, just to see, but if that doesn't work, Pyro A/V makes one that works perfectly for me.
