Sorry, I'm not sure if this is in the right spot because I'm not sure if this is a hardwre or software issue.

So I was playing a game in windows, and twice my macbook pro just randomly shut down. As if the plug was pulled on a desktop, but the battery was fully charged. I decided not to boot into windows again, figuring it was some dumb windows thing.
But tonight I went to open up final cut pro to work on a project, and the it wouldn't get all the way through the loading screen.
I went to disk utility and hit the verify disk button. I got this:

Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
Volume Header needs minor repair
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

That fixed the problem that disk utility was showing,
but Final Cut Pro still won't go past the loading screen.

I would reinstall Final Cut then.

I ended up searching google for awhile and found a program called FCP Rescue 5. Man, I love the mac community. I ran it and it fixed all my Final Cut Pro problems. What an obscure program. I guess it just trashes the preference file.
