How did you choose your Username?

Mine was on impulse. I had a copy of Alastair Sawday's "Special Places to stay in France" staring at me from the bookshelf above my monitor (back in my dark Dell days) and it kind of sounded right and easy to remember - and spell!!

Is yours your first name and last name first letter?

Mine is letter of First name (Dennis) and last name with 7.

My surname is 'Flook' and all my friends call me by that.. Randomly a girlfriends father before he met me asked his daughter.. Where is 'that flook guy' as I was late for lunch. Being told I was referred too by that I decided to start using it.

My username is HelpdeskRules because around 6 months ago a junior support person joined our department and I had to get them up to speed on working on a Helpdesk so I came up with a set of rules for them to follow. I have even published the 'HelpdeskRules' on the internet so everyone else can learn them.

During my second attempt at college, back about 1992, we had access to a Unix vax system where we could access email and telnet into mushes and muds. Washington University St. Louis had a big one, and in creating my handle there, I searched for something close to "Stranger." "The Stranger," "Dark Stranger," "Evil Stranger" - all taken. So I chose EvenStranger - which was a better fit for my sense of humor and my personality. Been using it since.
