burn videos to DVD?

i have a lot of .mov and .avi home videos that i want to burn to DVD Format from my MacBook.. can anyone help me in doing this? thanks

Your Mac's Specs
MacBook 2.0GHz White, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD
Use iDVD. You will need to convert the .AVI files, or use a codec so that QuickTime can read them. Perian may help you import the .AVIs directly into iDVD.

i have burned .avi files with iDVD with no prior conversion. the interface is very simple but not super intuitive. took me a few tries to drag and drop into the correct place, depending on the theme you choose.
