Question regarding hard drive

Hi guys, I just bought a 100 gb Hitachi travelstar ATA hard drive instead of a SATA drive. Can anyone tell me if that hard drive will work for my macbook either internally or externally ????

Externally yes, as long as you get an enclosure for the hard drive.

Aluminium Macbook 2.4 Ghz 4GB RAM, SSD 24" Samsung Display, iPhone 4, iPad 2
It has to be SATA to work internally.
