So, I'm currently deliberating over my Mac use (I want to get 'more Mac'!) and am weighing up the Pros and Cons of the various email / diary applications that I have at my disposal.

I'm using MS Entourage at the moment, but it seems a little sluggish. The calendar is good, but at the end of the day; it's Microsoft. They've got their grubby little mits into my system...

T'other currently installed option would be Mail/ICal/Address Book - three programs. How well do they integrate?

What do you use? Do you use one and prefer something else?

Hmm... :D

I've got Entourage installed to sync with my PocketPC. But the program really annoys me because it's so early 1990s in appearance and use. Stupid little things like, hello? I'd like to use my mouse wheel to scroll through the calender? And why can't it restart with the most recent e-mail highlighted in the list, when you have the newest at the bottom?

So I'm still using Entourage, but for Hotmail and for PocketPC Notes only, and Mail/iCal/Address Book for their shinier interface, usability and scriptability ;)

I am using Mail, iCal and Address Book exclusively. Never had any problem with their stability or performances. I have synced my iCal with google calender since I don't have a .Mac account.

Hmm. Sounds like the Apple apps. (HA!) might be the way to go.

can anyone advise me as to how I can set up a Hotmail account in 'Mail'? I can't seem to pull the settings from within Entourage...

I have tried a few different mail apps and I have found that the stock "mail" app the Mac OS comes with works best for me.. Works great in my opinion.

Thanks, novicew.

What doesn't work in Safari? Google Calendar has supported Safari for a long time, I use it regularly.

I vote for Mail/ICal/Address Book. They work great together for me.

I've switched over to the Mac option for now; in comparison to Entourage, they go like **** off a shovel! Nov's HTTP plugin works lovely, so all three email accounts are on!

A question for PowerBook users; do you leave your machine on all the time? Would it come to any harm using it like an alarm clock / sleep music machine? Wouldn't mind trying out some of the funky scripts that I've found on here...

Thanks Novice! Works great in iCal and the Google Calendar works perfectly in Safari also!
