It's a strange thing, but when I start up often the window sizes vary. Some days the window will fit fine, sometimes the window is too large left to right, and when I try to minimize it barely reveals the right scroll bar.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

same thing happens to me with safari. some days it opens down in the corner, half out of view, some days it plays nice, other days it opens and covers the whole screen. don't know why it does this, but if this is the only problem i experience when launching a browser, i'm super happy.

oh yeah, i'm running tiger.

Yes exactly. I'm running tiger also. There has to be reason for such random behavior, and some way to control it...

My Safari window opens at exactly the same place and size every time.

Only suggestion I might make:
close all of your Safari windows (by quitting Safari, not just red-X'ing them)
Start Safari
move that one Safari window to the location/size you want as default
Quit Safari again
open Safari and see if it's where you left it

Good luck.

Looks like that's it. It starts again wherever you stop, and if there were a lot of windows opened and ya just shut down the entire Safari it's hard to tell what ya might get next.

So there's no default opening...oh well, no prob now that I know the secret...

I'm fairly certain IE works that way in Windows, too.
