sync questions

I was wondering what the best way to sync two macs is. I run an iBook G4 and a MacBook pro. The mac bookpro acts like a desktop, never leaving my desk. While the iBook follows me around all the time. I would like some advice on which sync programs you would recomend. Mainly for working documents and other various files. Also I use quicken and was wondering if it would be possible to have the quicken files sync or would the cause problems in quicken.
