Great monitor. I have the 42" version, but they're practically the same thing.

It's 1920x1080 and will do 1080p over DVI and HDMI if you have a source.

Panasonic TH-50HP9UK (50") or TH-42PH9UK (42")

You'll have to get additional hardware for connections and a stand if needed as these are profssional-grade screens, but they are still very inexpensive and have surprisingly good picture quality. Check out CNETs review on them. I'm planning on picking up a 42" myself.

Is that over HDMI 1.1 or does it have HDMI 1.3?

Also, if you put a computer through it through your DVI is it a fuzzy picture or does it act as a monitor as well?

The Panasonic looks pretty good. Maybe if I can fit it in my room I'll get one.

I could be wrong but I believe the PS3 is the only consumer product that has HDMI 1.3 as of now

Wait a sec. I should have looked at the price of the Panasonics before I said anything. I can't afford 2000 dollars. Most I can do is 500, maybe a bit above 500, but not much.

If you're going to get an HDTV.. $500 won't get you much.. I personally would recommend saving the $2000 for a nice, high-end TV.

I won't be able to make that kind of money anytime soon. I don't need anything huge and fancy. A small TV like the two I have in my first post will do. I don't need 1080i/1080p. 720p is enough. So all I ask, is which of those two would you recommend? And what's so good about VGA?

That looks like a really nice one. Yes, I think I'll get that. Will I need anything extra to ensure that it displays in HD or should it right out of the box? Oh, and are you sure this is a trusthworthy site?

it will display HD right away if you are connecting via proper cables (Component or HDMI)

And I guess you must not have any costco's near you but it is a perfectly reputable company, like Sam's Clubs or BJ's Wholesale if you know what those are

It's HDMI 1.1.

The picture looks clear as day through DVI. VGA, however, looks a little dull and some features are dropped from Mac OS X, like full screen editing in iPhoto, etc.

too bad you couldn't stretch that 500 a bit. i have the Westinghouse LVM-37w2 as my main TV in "manland" (my basement) and it is a great TV/monitor. i was planning on hooking up a new gaming PC to it.

i got it a few months ago for a little over $900 with Tax.

I remember a episode of "Tool Time" where Tim pulls a groin muscle and tells his wife Jill that he is hurting in his Manland and her reply was, "So what do you have a theme park between your legs"?
