Printing problem with Acrobat 7 Pro

Sometime in the last few weeks something happened with Adobe Acrobat 7.

1) I used to be able to print a 10-12 page black and white document in seconds. Now, it prints each page with a 20-30 second pause in between each page.

2) When I view a pdf in Acrobat all pictures and fonts look correct, but when I print the font on the page is different than the font I used.

I have a G5 dual-core and I am using OS 10.4.7. The printer is an HP LaserJet 5000N.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you for your time.

1. try re-installing the printer drivers, and make sure you have all Acrobat updates installed. Double check you printer connection (USB/Ethernet?).

2. Sounds like the font is not transfering to the printer correctly. Make sure it is a complete font, not just screen-only. If you are using Suitcase, make sure it is X1 and make sure the font is permenantly activated. Or try embedding/outlining the font before creating a PDF.
