Recently purchased a Samsung Mighty Drive 2Gb usb..

having gone between pc and mac several times without issue, on one transfer all data was suddenly lost from the drive and it would no longer work even between a G5 tower and G4 powerbook..

trying to be clever i used disk utility to erase and reformat as MacOS extended (Journaled).

now the drive does not appear on the desktop (MAC), and in disk utility it appears but all options are greyed out (ie it seems locked)

the drive appears on a pc but it asks me to reformat it, when i try to do this it tells me the drive is locked and it cannot do it..

HELP!

thanks
Alistair

I've seen this happen before. It's likely you may have whacked your flash key.

If you can't format it on either a PC or a Mac, I'd suggest returning it for exchange.
