How to change the screen capture output format in Panther?
By screen capture, I mean of course the method using Cmd Shift 3 and its variants.
(The default output format on 10.3 is PDF.)
I read from this page:
http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/macosx10_4_1/topic3075.html
"To change the file format of the screencapture feature in OS X 10.4, use the following command line command:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type pdf
You need to log out and back in for the change to take effect."
(and you can change "pdf" with png, jpg, etc. etc.)
On that same page, near the top, another person says:
"With Panther, there was a Terminal-based method of changing the default format, but we tried it on Tiger, and it doesn't work."
I've looked around but all I can find is the Tiger method.
Is there really a Terminal-based method for Panther?
Thanks in advance!
