I was looking on ebay and I saw these going for $150. That is a great price. Can these run osx tiger?

How well would they work for internet browsing and ms office. thats all it would be used for if I got one.

thank you for the help,
Robert

$150 for a laptop isn't bad at all. They are kind of slow but they should browse the internet and run ms office just fine; however expect delays and stuff like that.

I think tiger will run on it, however I'm not 100% sure...can someone else chime in here?

Yes it runs Tiger, as long as you have 256MB of RAM. I'd recommend maxing the RAM out at 640MB (1x512MB + Original 128MB). Also, try and get an airport card.

I sold my iBook G3 700mhz with 640MB RAM and an aiport card for $250...

They'll almost certainly have OS X, but which version is another matter. It could be 10.2.x, which is alittle out dated now.

A gig is impossible, 640MB is the maximum.

I have a 500 Mhz G3 IBook running Tiger. It runs it fine although it is slower than Jaguar. I have 640MB of RAM though.

Panther runs like a champ. If you already have one flavor of OSX installed and you want to you can take the upgrade path for tiger without loosing your stuff. Mine runs panther and it is great. The ram makes a huge difference.
