• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I'm hoping someone can help. I've imported numerous clips into iMovie from my Sony Mini DV camera and I was wondering where the program stores the individual files? Are they only accessible via iMovie? Or can I access them individually in another location?

Check in Macintosh HD>Users>your account name>Movies (In the left pane), they should be there if they were imported to your HD. Also if you start iMovie, look in preferences and there should be an option to select where to save projects. You could check that location as well.

If you are looking for the individual clips. Then you will need to location your project and select it. Then do a control click. Choose the show package contains (something like that). It will open up a folder. Go to the media folder, where you will find a bunch of clips.
