On a similar topic, I noticed iTunes actually made duplicates of my music that I copied into my Music folder from my PC instead of just keeping them there. Any reason it would do that? Can I change that setting?

The folder opens anytime we change users, or when I first start up and log onto my user.

Right/ctrl-click on the folder and see if Folder Actions are configured.

You can change this in iTunes>Preferences>Advanced>General

Uncheck the option to have iTunes copy files to the iTunes folder when adding to the library.

Do you have any additional software installed to control iTunes? What startup items do you have?
