My son has just got a JVC GR-D340 digital video camera and wants to mess around with his films on iMovie. The instructions say to use a DV cable to connect camera to a PC-no mention of Mac and the connection looks like nothing on the back of my G4.
What do we need to do?

G4 AGP Graphics 450 MHz PowerPC
OSX 10.3.9

If the camera has a firewire port, then you are in good shape. If not, you will need a bridge to connect the camera to the computer.

According to the spec sheets it has "Firewire Connection Out".

Presumably it has a small 4 pin firewire connector, like the smaller end in this picture.

Your mac should have a larger Firewire port, like the large end in the picture, so you'll either need a 4pin->6pin adapter for a 4pin->4pin cable or a 4pin->6pin cable.
