After stupidly selecting "single user" in Cocktail I have effectively blocked myself from starting into OSX. I'm sure there is a command I can enter to regain control, but i have absolutely no idea what it is. Anyone have a fix? Help much appreciated.

UNIX command wizardry to the rescue.

Type Control-D at the hash (#) prompt. That will start your machine into multi-user mode.
