Aspect ratio calculator??

Anyone know a website with an aspect ratio calc that includes 16:10?? I've found one that has 4:3 and 16:9 for TVs, but nothing with 16:10 ratio that monitor widescreens have.

Or, mroe simply, can anyone tell me the length and width of the 30" cinema screens?

Moving to correct forum...

25.4" x 15.9" gives a 30" diagonal. However, you'll have to take into account the bezel size and also that no doubt 30" is an approximation and may reflect the panel size rather than the viewable area?

isn't 'hardware' the physical components? eg. monitor, keyboard.
In this case, it might have meant an actual calculator, one that will sit on your desk.

I wasn't aware that 16:10 was the (or more specifically a) widescreen monitor ratio. I'm only familiar with more standard ratios as you listed.

Jem raises a good point - it probably is an approximation, but I'd say those numbers are close enough for most needs.

The macbooks are 1280x800 which is a 16:10 aspect ratio. This is why we get people asking why their 16:9 DVDs are displayed in a letterbox. It's just geometry. Try this:
