Need Help, urgent : Installing OS X 10.4 in Xtrenal FW Disk

Dear all,
My Studio have Dual 1,25G G4 running OS 10.3.4
And we plan to invest on some new gears and soft with minimum req OSX 10.4.4.
We lucky that our distributor lend us demo unit to try.
My friend suggest me to Install OSX 10.4 in xternal Firewire and install the trial soft there.
So, I Try to install OSX 10.4 from DVD to FW Disk. I'm using External FW Plextro DVD Drive.

I restart and hold Option and Click the CD Icon. But I Think the instalastion process not progress (1% for almost 2 hours)....

Is this correct? What Should I do for my situation...
Is this happen because of Plextor FW DVD Drive?

Since no one here has an answer, go to the Apple site. Click the Support tab and under that, the Discussions selection. Under the heading "Mac OS X & Related Software" choose the "Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger" selection. First do a search for slow install, and if that does not lead you anywhere, post a message. You'll need a free account if you don't already have one.
