Waiting for the PS3?

i don't need one yet. going to do the same thing i did with the PS2.

wait until the release of the next full version of Gran Turismo.

they better **** well be able to do realistic AI on this machine!

I would say tell that to the people who camped outside store three days before the launch.

it will stil be seuccessful, but not as much as the ps2 was or the xbox 360 is/is going to be

The only reason i would be buying a PS3 is when they release GRAN TURISMO.

there's only two type of person buying a PS3 at this point. a hardcore die hard Sony PS fan and a "businessman" *wink *wink, *cough* ebay ka-ching!

all i want is the blue-ray players, the games are just a bonus.

I camped out from Thursday @ 1 PM after school to 7 AM Friday morning when there "20+" became a "2 60GB and 4 20GB units, and 4 rain checks will be given out). They called the police over because they knew people were going to be rediculously ******. There were also people waiting outside the store (evidently) to jump the people who got the PS3s. The police officers then escorted the individuals who got the PS3s to their cars (I did not get one, I got a rain check) and made the suspicious people leave.

I was there as a businessman, I could care less about playing a $600 video game system. I'll be getting mine in 1-2 weeks.

My Gamestop had 16 preorders, and I got #11, but they only got 8 on the release date. So I got to wait. QQ

I think there is gonna be one, but from what I gather, it's just GT4 remade in HD. That's pretty much it. I think it's supposed to be identical otherwise. Only worth it if you will have a nice HD TV to display it on. I agree about the AI. 'Lesser' racers I own have much better AI; cars that are aware of your presence on the road, and don't push through you following a strict course route.

Also, the PS2 GT4 isn't compatible at this stage. There's been a list (a list released AFTER the PS3 launch, nice one Sony) of over 200 games (with quite a few big titles included) which aren't backwards compatible with the PS3. To make matters worse, there are HD issues with some TV's and certain PS3 games.

So, what I'm waiting for is the PS3 to have a price drop, and a significant one at that. I don't care about bluray, because all that's gonna do is make games more expensive. Some xbox360 here are already up to AU$120 - and I figure PS3 titles will be just as much, and even more.

I miss the good old days when a gaming console just played games. Playing movies, photos, music and all that is what I have my mac for.

that's why i specified next full version.
HD looks pretty good, and i believe they mixed in TT with GT from what i've seen. but i don't think it would justify the cost. though any few of the following might before GT5...
freedom fighters 2
mercenaries 2
getting up 2
katamari damacy (next one)
gta (next full one)
and of course oblivion for the ps3
and if square ever updates bushido blade i'd have to take out a loan immediately!!!
