Intel Mac and x11 problems

I got this Mac... about two weeks ago and I've already checked and the install discs don't have x11 (along with Safari & imail) on them as an option to download. When I try to install or update X11, my computer tells me I already have the latest version of x11, but I can't locate it and when I try to run Gimp or Open Office it tells me I don't have x11. Can anyone help?
