I recently purchased my sister's 1-year old Powerbook G4 after she upgraded to the new Macbook. I love it, but can't figure out how to change the owner's name and passwords to be mine instead of hers. I don't want to completely format everything and start over because she has many extras (like Microsoft Office for Mac) installed and I don't want to lose them. (She is currently living in Africa and can't mail me the discs for the additional programs.) Is it possible to make these changes or am I stuck until I can get the discs and format and reinstall everything? I did add myself as a user and then as the administrator.

Thank you for the help

Thanks for the help, i will make the changes as outlined. Will deleting her account and changing the user name and the computer name cause any problems with her installed programs that I still want to use?

All installed programs are shared between all users, so deleting her user will make no difference. You might need to set your user to be the automatic login if you don't want to enter your password every time you boot.
