How do you install mac osx on a g4 with os 9.2??

Is it like windows where you make sure the cd is in before starting? It just keeps spitting the cd back out at me.

I need help.

An ex-Windows user.

First off, BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP all your important files from the current(os 9) system.

To boot off an install disk, restart and hold down the "C" key, that tells system that you want to boot from the cd.
