macbook to tv only black/white on tv

i just purchased a minidvi out from the apple store, and hooked up an s video cable from it to my panasonic ct-20g8g television. the picture on the tv shows up fine, but i cant figure out how to get it to display color. its currently set at black and white, and i cant find a setting on the tv control panel to make it color (color is there when im watching normal cable tv). how do i get color on my tv?? please help!

Make sure everything looks ok in System Preferences -> Displays
