What is the best product for mac and pictures??

Macbook/13.3"/2.16GHz Intel C2D/1GB RAM/120GB HD/Ipod 20 Gig
I have a G4 and wondering what the best program out there is to use for editing, and effects on pictures...etc.

If you shoot RAW, I am really falling in love with Adobe Lightroom Beta...and its free. This will allow you to process the images but no special effects, for that as Devilboy states Photoshop is the standard.

Power Mac G5 10.5.6, 4 gig several ImacsG4's 640kb/10.3.9 and an Ibook G4/Tiger
Photoshop Elements is 90% of PSCS2 (I use both) and its well under $100 US.

For RAW I am stuck with Nikon as I dont care for the extra work I have to do with other converters,

You should be able to get Photoshop 6 or 7 cheap off ebay.
