macbook cdrom make humming noise before mount media...

hi folks, my macbook's SuperDrive (DVD+/-RW/CD-RW) its making a horrible humming noise before mount any media (specially dvd-r)... once mounted its quiet..

do you think i have to call support or some or is it a normal thing?
BTW, i just purchased that macbok few weeks ago how can I know if warranty is still valid and what info do i need to have at hand before call support? (such as battery barcode or some)

If you're concerned, take it into a shop. Mine also spinds up and down a few times before mounting, so i think it is normal.

I have had a loud noise just prior to mounting on all of my slotloading mac's, never worried me
