I want to buy a replacement internal HDD for an iBook G4, but the Mac store (Next Byte Australia) are trying to screw my by charging $300 for a 100GB HDD (plus $150 for installation -- *******s!). I know I can get then for $185-$200 at most from streetwise.com, but it would be easier if I coud just get it at a physical store.
My question is -- will any laptop HDD do. I mean, I relaise there are good and bad brands, but do iBooks use standard laptop hard disks, or are there only certain types that are compatible?
I was thinking of getting the one of these (Samsung HM100JC). Will this be OK?
Thanks in advance!
