Mac Linux advice needed

Hello everyone,

I'd like to try linux, but I need some advice. What distros have limited hardware issues with macs? Specifically, I'd like to try a distro that will let me run it off a CD or USB flash drive and mount my filesystem so I can save files and play around with it for awhile to see if I like it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Ubuntu is my favorite and it works fine with new Intel Macs.

Quite a few now offer Live CD: you might try Linspire or Freespire.

Can any of these read/write to the hard drive from the live cd? I'd like to give it a true shot.
