i am trying to share a folder on an external hard drive, from a mac mini to a mostly windows network. i can see the machine from "ms windows network" in windows explorer, but i dont see the HDD...
can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? the ultimate goal is to replace our current "file server" xp machine with the mini, but the total files it needs to serve exceed the internal HD. hence the external HDD.
btw, this is all coming about due to XPs limits on incoming connections limited to 10 out of the box. luckily i think there are plenty of other benefits for using a mac to serve the files.
