• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I use MacTheRipper to rip DVD's... the come out as TS files (Video TS and Audio TS).... I then use Toast 7 to burn them to DVD's..

I would like to get these TS files to .avi or or anything that can be played on my Palm Treo 700p using TCPMP...

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

DVD2ONEX will do that, but it's pretty expensive.

Ok... I am using DVD20neX (trial version but can't seem to figure out how to actually convert to .avi.... in fact I don't see anywhere to designate how (what type) I want the original TS files exported.. please help.

I'll also look at Handbrake.. and see If I can figure that out.

Handbrake will do it and as Trpnmonkey said it's free. I use it all the time to convert to AVI. Excellent Utility.

Wow... it worked like a charm! about 17 minutes to convert to .avi.

Thank you!

I would still be interested in figuring out how to do the same in DVD2OneX...

Thanks again!
