cracked my LCD screen and bought a new one over ebay. Is it ambitious to do it myself w/ the guide on www.ifixit.com or should I pay $120 for an apple technician to do it.

well I doubt your warranty on the rest of your MacBook is expired, so I would suggest you get Apple to replace it that way you can maintain the rest of your warranty, IE if you damaged a connector on the motherboard trying to disconnect the cables.
