Hi everybody - I just hooked up my maxtor one touch II for the first time to my macbook (usb). I formatted it and tried transferring some data... it takes about 3 hours for 6GB to transfer... is this normal? Is there anything I can do to speed it up? I never remember it being this slow with windows.

Is it formatted for FAT32? Likely is. Reformat it for HFS+ and you will see it suddenly speed up to what you would expect.
