This is what Happened..

I almost spilled a drink on my keyboard..
I saved the spill...
But got a slight splash on the keyboard..
I instantly flipped over my keyboard..and Rubbed a towl across the keys..
No damage to my keyboard..

But I Inadvertently hit some type of key stroke during the button mashing, that Puts a black box around certian things...

example.

I also Pressed a combo that makes the computer say everything that Im doing..

Its very annoying and I dont know how to get rid of it..

and tips?

thanks,

Anthony

I don't know about the Black Box but you can get rid of the VoiceOver by hiting Command + F5 or changing the necessary settings in System Preferences.

have you restarted the Mac? Perhaps that might help.

The voice and black border are both accessibility options. Command+F5 should turn them all on or off, but if it doesn't, check System Preferences.

IMAC OSX compatable hard drives

Hi,

How can I find out which hard drives will work with OSX on an older IMAC? I was told that it needed to have a "mac compatable PRAM" and that the only way to find out was through trial and error which would be costly. Specifically, would the Maxtor L01P200 Internal 7200 RPM 200 GB Hard Drive
work? I got one for free after rebates.

Thanks in advance for your help.

For the record, OS X treats every icon as an open window.

Having that many icons on your desktop is slowing your computer down a tremendous amount.

It does?

As Devil's Advocate, that doesn't seem very efficient for an OS.
