hey there,

i know intel code is different to power pc code BUT if i have intel programs like ms office and jasc psp 9, can they run on my intel mac?

i would have thought it would make sense if they did because they are both intel but does the OS make any difference?

any comments would be good

thanks

I assume you are talking about Windows versions of the programs, in which case no you can't run them on your iMac.

Yeah, intel & powerpc mac programs are basically the same app, just with processor specific enhancements.

But windows & mac intel programs are completely different apps, just that they are both optimized for one specific processor type.

What's new about intel macs re. windows is that you can now run it natively on your intel mac or virtualized (at the same time as OS X) at 100% / decent speeds.
