I cannot find an Answer

I've looked high an low. I may have seen my answer, but if I did, the technical jargon was above my head.

I'm going to be doing some work with Maya, a 3D visual effects program, and I'm going to be eating up a lot of memory.

My main computer is a powerbook g4 687 MHz, 512 mb.

I want to know if there is anyway I can link my powerbook to my old iMac g3 400 MHz with 1gig mb.

My goal is to use the 1gig of ram on my g3. Just to speed me up a bit. Is this even possible? Using memory from one machine on another?

Don't feel obligated to explain how, just a yes or no. This way I'll know if I should keep looking.
