Metacafe.com video > avi/mpeg/quicktime/whatever

Is this possible?

I am using for a video on there for part of a Uni assignment that is basically like gold dust and if it gets taken off I can't do the assignment!

Any help appreciated?

Go to keepvid.com and enter the url of the video you want (http://keepvid.com/)

Then download the .flv file link that pops up and transcode it to whatever using isquit or ffmpegx for example.
