Pasting working for some applications not others - where is the Mac clipboard?

I am using a Mac PRO with OSX10.4.7. I use Parallels to create a virtual machine running Windows XP Pro (UGH!). I can copy and paste from the virtual machine onto Mail or Text Edit. I cannot paste to Word or Filemaker 8.5 - both of which use Rosetta. How come I can paste to one application and not another? Is there some way to alter the "clipboard" settings on the Mac to allow pasting of everything it holds in memory to all applications - Rosetta or not.

How do I view the "clipboard" or change its settings in the Mac? :spook:
