Hi I would like to use my 20GB iPod as a bootable drive.

How do I get the 10.4 OS DVD that came with my iMac onto my iPod?

If possible, the "dummie version" would be great. :)

Thanks in advance!

First, is your iPod Firewire or USB? Intels can boot from USB, but PowerPCs can't.

Second, this is all in theory, I've never done it before.

1. Connect the iPod.
2. Turn on iPod Disk Mode in iTunes.
3. Open Disk Utility.
4. Click the upper-most partition of the connected iPod.
5. Erase and Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
6. Reboot with the iPod connected and hope the Install Disk sees the iPod as a worthy install location.

I'd recommend keeping your iPod an iPod, and just buy a cheap external.
