Disc with question mark pops up

okay i have a mac clone and just recently a disc has popped up with a question mark saying that something in the system is missing so it is up able to boot up .. i have a os 9 disc that i burned from a friend... and i put it in the cd drive and i restart pressing the c key and nothign works... anyone help me please

Okay, here is what I know. it is possible that the OS 9 disk you made is not bootable. I know when using Toast you have to do press a certain key as you drop a copy of the system folder into Toast. This must be done in order to make a bootabel CDROM disk. Since I don't know how you created the OS 9 disk I am making a guess.

yeah i borrowed a friends cd and what i did was basically copied the disc and put it on my other computer's desktop... and then i just copied it on a disc.. so i think its not being a boot disc .. because he told me just to copy it.. so i did.. i'l try this again later
