Woohoo!

I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl lol; I ordered my lovely new iMac this morning!

I decided to go for the following configuration:

- 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x512MB
- ATI Radeon X1600 with 256MB VRAM
- 250GB Serial ATA drive
- Wireless keyboard (English) & wireless Mighty Mouse + Mac OS X (English)
- 20-inch TFT display
- 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±RW, CD-RW)
- AirPort Extreme
- Bluetooth 2.0

I can't wait till it arrives! The site says the Mac will be ready in 3 days. I also ordered a "Tucano Cappucio Protective Cover" for it but this says it’s ready to ship in 1-2 weeks! Does this mean that this cover will delay my iMac because they send everything from one order at once?

Regards,

Chris. :mac:

P.S. Does anyone here use Aperture? If so, how good is it and would you recommend to someone who does a bit of photography (me)? Or would Photoshop suffice for my needs?

I am pretty sure that when you are ordering you select whether you want the items shipped together or as soon as they are available (or it might be separately automatically)

Congrats on your new iMac. I have had my iMac G5 for over a year and half and it still runs like the day I took it out of the box. I haven't had one problem with it. It was my first mac and the best computer I have ever owned without question.

good luck

I think that it depends on what format you are taking the images in. I believe that Aperture is designed primarily for the editing of RAW images. If you are taking mainly Jpeg's then I believe that Photoshop would be sufficient.

Oh and congrats on the purchase of your iMac.

This is one sweet set-up! I just noticed the letter r in your name. I remember when writing the letter r like that was taught at school. There was also a funny way to write p and s too.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.
