Hi all.
I've been duplicating my boot drive to an external Firewire device. I've tried both Retrospect and Carbon Copy Cloner, and both do a fine job of duplicating everything and I can boot from the results.
But... on the target drive I lose all my custom folder icons, such as the books icon for /Library, and the X icon for /System. All folder icons are reset to the boring default folder icon.
All application icons are intact, so it's only folders which are affected.
Any ideas why? How does OS X handle folder icon information?
I'm currently on 10.4.8 but I noticed the same thing happened with 10.3.x.
Thanks, David
