We have a Mac OS X 10.4.8 user on our Windows Network. To map the Network drives for that user I simply go to Go > Connect to Server then connect to the network share. The Network drive mounts fine but we are having problems with shortcuts and files while browsing through the drive. Although we can access most of the files on the server, we are unable to access certain files, fonts and shortcuts. The main files we were having problems with were Quark files, we are able to fix this by adding the extension to the file, but we still can’t access the fonts. We are also trying to connect to a file share within the local drive but still no luck.
All of the files that are not accessible appear as a black icon with exec shown. It states that the files are a Unix Executable File.
We did use a program called Dave and were able to access everything. We have had to stop using Dave as it constantly crashes the system.
Any ideas?
