i hate how the logon screen has the default wallpaper, and then once you login it changes to your actual wallpaper. is there any way to change this or over it during boot up for that matter?

I haven't tried it myself but Visage will do the trick.

The Login Windows uses Macintosh HD/Library/Desktop Pictures/Aqua Blue.jpg, so whatever picture you want as the login window just move into that folder and rename "Aqua Blue.jpg".

So:

1. Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Desktop Pictures
2. Open a new Finder window and find your current desktop picture.
3. Copy it into MacHD/Library/Desktop Pictures and rename it "Aqua Blue.jpg"

Log out.
