A friend had her 12" PB playing a song and I was like "wait a minute! I thought so!
Her PB was much louder than mine, as I was pretty sure I remembered mine to be. Mine was dropped on its ports side once inside my backpack.
So I'm ready to crack it open and swap out the speakers along with my HD.
I saw two types of speakers for sale on ebay.
One is a long panel with speakers on each end as you'd expect from the visible layout on the outside.
The other is a 12" PB "subwoofer." What the heck? Maybe this is what's burned out on mine.

Also, macrecycling has different parts for different PB speeds, while other dealers don't:
