hi,

i am about to get the 2.66 MacPro
Can i put in a pciexpress NvidiaQuadroFX1500 for 3d work projects and use it only with the WinXP partition
Getting a FX4500 is an overkill in an aspect of hardware or economy :)
(actually in matters of economy it is a massacre)

so i will have the default nvidia7300 on one monitor and the fx1500 on the other...
(and on MacOSX only the one monitor--since from what i understand the fx1500 is not supported...)

If that FX1500 is a PC video card, the display hooked into it while running OSX will be either black, blank, or garbled. In order for a PC card to work properly in a Mac, you have to flash it with a Mac BIOS, if one is available. I hope this answers your question.

i think it does ...

but i am not sure it is worth the trouble :-(
i mean we have to use XP until the new versions for the 3d software comes out
but then what? completely ditch the MacOSX?
i wouldnt do that and stck with XP....

but the whole rig costs almost 6000euros with the monitors and all (with FX4500
and with the fx1500 and a geforce7300 around 4500euros....
